Working together to plan your event:
When we begin working together, I look forward to hearing all of your plans and helping to make suggestions of where music would help to support your event. I can share a portfolio of tunes and styles of fiddle music in my repertoire that we can select melodies from to be used for specific moments in your ceremony.
For weddings: there are a few options for how music around your ceremony could look. Based on what you have planned, we’ll make a combination of any of the following you’d like to weave into the day: prelude / setting music as attendees gather at the ceremony site and bring their focus into the event, processional music as the wedding party walks down the aisle, any moments during the ceremony that would be served with accompaniment, and recessional / celebration music as the ceremony ends and attendees start to transition into the reception.
If I am involved musically with your ceremony, I’ll ask for a few specific cues for my musical entrances and exits, markers of the beginning and ending of the ceremony. These questions can also be answered by your wedding coordinator around the time of your rehearsal, and sent on to me.
For other ceremonies: the world of options is wide open, and I’ll walk with you through planning a grounded and meaningful container for your personal or communal work.
Rates:
For up to two full hours of music, that may be separated by a one-hour ceremony that I’m happy to provide music for or simply standby, my rate is $800, all inclusive of travel within a 120 mile radius of Traverse City, MI and all planning and coordination time.
Let me know if your event calls for more music needed, or a larger ensemble. I have colleagues experienced at playing with me for traditional dances, and I’m happy to to coordinate the hiring of additional players to bring into the circle.
